Where’s Drew, May 2017 Edition

Here comes May already. I don’t know about you all, but this year is flying by. If you any interest in seeing me talk or blog about things, here’s where I’ll be:

  • It’s time for Stir Trek! If you aren’t familiar with Stir Trek it is a local technical conference in Columbus, Ohio. It’s pretty unique in the fact that it brings together lots of different IT disciplines, like development, UX, IoT, and, yes, even databases. I’ll be giving a presentation on SQL Server execution plans. It’s not a topic I normally speak on, but it’s one I wrote years ago to help developers understand queries better. Even if you don’t want to come see me talk about that, Stir Trek is an awesome experience. Plus you get to see Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 as part of your admission! Tickets are pretty much sold out already, but you might be able to pick one up if you look or ask around. If you check out the conference page and this appeals to you either as a speaker or attendee, make sure you mark your calendars for next year. I’ll be at the board game night, too!
  • May 20th is SQL Saturday New York City, and I’ll be there talking about SQL Server Transactional replication. I’m also bringing Gene with me! Hope I get a chance to meet some of you guys and girls there, too.
  • I have some more blog posts lined up for this month too, including some more replication related functions and cmdlets.
  • If you’ve been following me on twitter, I’ve been talking about a secret side project I’ve been working on. I’m pretty close to being able to reveal what it is, as long as some final pieces fall into place. All I can say for now is that if you like SQL Server, and you don’t follow me, you might want to.

That’s it for now. I hope you all have another great month!
