Where’s Drew, March 2019 Edition

I can’t believe it’s March already. Pretty soon this drab and dreary winter is going to give way to some fine spring weather. Of course, Ohio being Ohio we’re in for some rough weather leading up to it.

As for me, March brings some new opportunities to get out there and share some knowledge and learn some new things. Here’s what I’ve got going on:

  • I’ll be giving a PowerShell talk to the PASS DC group on Thursday, March 14th at 6:30 PM. I’ll be doing this one remote, but it’s a chance to talk about one of the things I love the most: automation, and why it’s still super important for ALL IT functions, and DBAs/Data Professionals are no exception. You can find out more here: https://passdc.pass.org
  • Then on Saturday the 16th, I’m boarding a flight to Seattle for my first MVP Summit! I’m super jazzed about this, and not least of all that I get to spend some time with some of my favorite people. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this week of awesome learning.
  • I’m rounding out the month at my 2nd SQL Saturday Cincinnati on Saturday the 30th. I’ll be brining the HASSP with me and talking about the project. Of course, this being a SQL Saturday in my neck of the woods there’s going to be plenty to see and learn about other than me. I encourage you, if you have the means, to stop on by. The event last year was very well run and I had a lot of fun, and I think you will, too.

Oh and outside of work I just celebrated my 5th anniversary being a member at Friendship Fitness, and I’m also really excited to pick up and play the Division 2 on PC this month as well. Fancy joining me? Let me know and I’ll get you my UPlay ID and together we can save the world.
